Marius Bessone (1929-2001)
Marius Bessone was born in Vallauris one French Riviera in 1929.
After studying industrial techniques for architecture and ceramic decoration, he opened his workshop in 1954 with his wife Huguette . They began producing utilitarian pieces with incised punctuated geometric shapes in bright colors.
He won many prizes for his ceramics between 1964 and 1969.
A study trip to Asia in the 1980s developed his creativity in his work. He also registered patents such as his volcanic effects, a technique of crystallization of his glazes to create bubbled effects.
